Before an LED Headlight Swap: Five Checks That Matter

An LED bulb swap is more than a bulb-code search. The safest shopping process starts with a specific vehicle, a specific lamp position, and a close look at the existing headlamp assembly. Use these five checks before you order.

1. Identify the existing bulb

Use the owner's manual and the marking on the original bulb. Note whether you are working on the high beam, low beam, or fog lamp. Product names such as the Vypart 9012/H10 listing can help you find a page to inspect, but a listing name alone does not establish fitment.

2. Compare the base and connector

Check tab placement, locking action, connector shape, and any retaining clip. Stop if the parts do not match; forcing a bulb or connector can damage the assembly.

3. Measure the space behind the lamp

Check room for rear bulb components, wires, and the dust cap. The Vypart H11/H9/H8 listing is another product page to review against your own housing dimensions and original bulb code.

4. Inspect aim and beam pattern

After installation, have the lamp's aim and beam pattern checked using an appropriate method. Brightness claims on a listing do not replace an inspection of the actual lamp assembly.

5. Check rules and availability

Confirm local road-use requirements and the store's current product availability before ordering. If the page shows conflicting fitment or specification information, contact the seller for confirmation. You can also browse the complete Vypart LED collection once you know exactly what your vehicle requires.
